Together: How a Fan-Written Lyric Became One of ALIMA’s Most Personal New Releases
Some tracks begin with a melody.
Others begin with words.
For “Together,” arriving August 14, 2026, the starting point was a set of lyrics written by someone who originally discovered my music as a listener.
Her name is Sharon.
We connected through TikTok, where she had been following my music and experimenting with songwriting herself. At some point, she sent me a demo built around lyrics she had written and brought to life using Suno.
The question was simple:
Could I turn it into something of my own?
The answer became “Together.”
It started with the lyrics
The first thing that caught me was not the production.
It was the message.
Sharon’s lyrics immediately connected with me because they reflect many of the values I personally associate with love: connection, trust, hope and the feeling that two people can face something stronger together than they could alone.
She gave me explicit permission to use her lyrics, and from that point I began thinking about how they could exist inside the ALIMA sound.
The original demo already contained music, but I did not want to simply rebuild what was there.
Instead, I extracted the vocals and opened Logic Pro.
From there, I started again.
Building a new world around the vocals
Because the vocals existed before the production, they became the emotional foundation of the track.
I experimented with different rhythms, harmonies and melodic ideas until I found a lead melody that immediately felt right.
That lead became one of my favorite parts of the finished production.
Rather than writing a track first and then searching for vocals that might fit, “Together” developed in the opposite direction.
The voice and lyrics dictated the atmosphere.
The sound design, melodic choices and general character of the production were built around what the words already expressed.
The result began moving naturally toward the kind of emotional trance that has always been central to ALIMA.
Vocal trance.
Uplifting energy.
A touch of progressive influence.
And a strong melodic center.
Then it disappeared into the ideas folder
The first version began taking shape during autumn and winter 2025.
I developed the production through to the drop and already had a clear sense of what the record could become.
Then I stopped.
The project ended up inside the same place many unfinished ALIMA ideas eventually go:
the ideas folder on my Mac.
And for several months, that was where “Together” remained.
I have learned not to treat that folder as a graveyard for unfinished music.
Sometimes an idea simply needs distance.
A track can have the right melody, the right emotion and even the right production – but still not feel ready.
Returning months later often makes it easier to understand what it was missing.
That was the case here.
Returning to “Together”
When I eventually opened the project again, the emotional core was still there.
The vocals still worked.
The lead still felt right.
What the track needed was refinement.
As with the other releases from this current ALIMA chapter, Suno became part of that final development process.
But the workflow is important.
The production had already been created in Logic Pro.
The vocals had already been extracted.
The lead melody, sound design and musical direction had already been established.
Suno then helped me explore ways to improve the dynamics, arrangement and overall mix direction of the existing production.
Those results became another creative reference point – not the replacement for the track itself.
I then checked the finished production again myself, made the final decisions and mastered the release using my own mastering chain.
That combination of traditional production and newer tools has become an important part of the way I work today.
Where AI fits into “Together”
The story behind “Together” is also a good example of why I do not see AI in music as a simple question of whether something is “AI-made” or “human-made.”
The reality can be much more layered.
The original lyrics came from Sharon.
She used Suno to turn those lyrics into an initial vocal demo.
I then extracted the vocals and created a new musical production around them inside Logic Pro.
My own lead melody, sound design and arrangement became the foundation of the ALIMA version.
Later, Suno helped explore additional possibilities around dynamics, arrangement and mix development.
The final artistic decisions remained mine.
The final production was checked by me.
And the final master was created using my own mastering chain.
For me, this is exactly where these tools become interesting.
Not as a button that replaces creativity, but as another part of a larger creative workflow.
A track that feels unmistakably ALIMA
Of the four releases forming this current chapter, “Together” may be the one that connects most directly to the sound people already associate with ALIMA.
It combines emotional vocals with uplifting trance, melodic progression and subtle progressive influences.
In that sense, it also feels closely connected to the atmosphere of my “Dakota” remix.
That connection matters to me because “Together” is not about trying to prove that ALIMA can sound completely different.
It is almost the opposite.
This track represents much of what ALIMA has always been about.
Emotion.
Melody.
Energy.
Hope.
And the feeling that electronic music can communicate something genuinely human.
Radio Edit and Extended Version
“Together” will be released in both a Radio Edit and an Extended Version.
The Radio Edit is the more compact and immediate interpretation.
It moves quickly, keeps the energy high and delivers the emotional core of the track without unnecessary distance between its major moments.
The Extended Version gives the production more room to breathe and allows the trance structure to develop more naturally.
Both versions carry the same emotional identity.
They simply approach the journey differently.
Why “Together” matters to me
There are many things I like about the finished track.
The vocals are probably the first.
They were the reason I started working on the production in the first place, and even after spending months away from the project, they still had the same emotional effect when I returned.
Then there is the lead melody.
That part is completely tied to my own interpretation of the song and became the musical counterpart to Sharon’s words.
Together, those two elements define the record for me.
The voice provides the message.
The melody provides the lift.
Everything else was built to connect them.
The meaning behind the artwork
The visual identity of “Together” continues the cyan, blue, violet and pink world that has become closely connected to ALIMA.
But here, the artwork takes that idea in a particularly fitting direction.
Two different fields of light and energy move toward one another.
Blue from one side.
Pink from the other.
They meet in the center and become something brighter together.
That visual idea reflects the emotional message of the track almost perfectly.
Two sides.
Two energies.
One point of connection.
The next chapter continues
“Together” arrives only one week after “Made of Light,” but the two tracks show very different sides of the same ALIMA chapter.
“Made of Light” explored what could happen when an uplifting trance idea unexpectedly moved into harder territory.
“Together” comes back toward the emotional, vocal and melodic center of the project.
And perhaps that is why this track feels so important to me.
Someone who already knows ALIMA should hear “Together” because it brings together almost everything the project stands for – while at the same time representing the new AI-assisted production chapter I am exploring in 2026.
