Leaving the weight of the ground
The rhythmic opening establishes movement and the feeling that the journey has already begun before the destination becomes visible.
Official ALIMA Release
Behind the release
“Somewhere in the Sky” is an atmospheric vocal trance collaboration by ALIMA and Nold, created around the feeling of leaving the ground and travelling toward a destination that exists beyond the visible horizon.
Soaring melodies, emotional vocal elements and a driving 134 BPM foundation combine into a euphoric journey through open space, distant light and unrestricted movement.
The skyward journey
The rhythmic opening establishes movement and the feeling that the journey has already begun before the destination becomes visible.
Expanding synth layers and vocal atmosphere lift the production above its club foundation and create a growing sense of height.
The full melodic return transforms anticipation into euphoria, giving the listener the feeling of moving without limits.
The central idea
“Somewhere in the Sky” is built around an imagined place rather than one fixed location. It represents escape, possibility and the belief that another emotional world may exist beyond what can currently be seen.
The track does not define exactly where that place is. Instead, rhythm, melody and vocals create enough space for every listener to imagine a different destination.
The collaboration
The official release brings ALIMA and Nold together under the joint artist identity “Alima X Nold”. The collaboration combines an emotional trance concept with a melodic and atmospheric production built for both personal listening and the dancefloor.
Vocal elements provide the human connection, while the instrumental progression creates the scale, movement and euphoric height surrounding them.
The visual world
The imagined environment behind the track begins at the edge of sunset. The last warm light remains visible below while the sky gradually changes into deeper shades of violet and blue.
The bassline represents the steady movement forward. The vocals and melodies feel like distant signals travelling through the open atmosphere, always pulling the listener toward something higher.
Two versions — one flight
The compact version reaches the vocals, central melody and euphoric release quickly while preserving the complete emotional identity of the collaboration.
The Extended Mix creates additional room for the rhythmic opening, gradual ascent, transitions, atmospheric breakdown and complete mainfloor return.
Release footprint
“Somewhere in the Sky” was released internationally as a two-track vocal trance single by Alima X Nold.
The collaboration became catalogue release RDX558 within the international Redux Recordings catalogue.
The Extended Mix later appeared in Redux compilations, introducing the track to listeners beyond the original single release.
The Redux chapter
The Redux package presents two ways to experience the track. The Original Mix provides a direct route into the vocal and melodic center, while the Extended Mix gives the arrangement more room to develop.
Together, both versions connect accessible emotional storytelling with the longer progression needed for trance-oriented DJ sets.
