Crisp percussion and the driving bassline create a steady force that carries the listener away from the shore and into open movement.
Official ALIMA Release
Behind the release
“Down To The Ocean” is a peak-time vocal trance collaboration by ALIMA and Nold, combining emotional atmosphere with the continuous physical movement of the sea.
Crisp percussion, a hard-hitting bassline, dreamy pads, melodic vocal elements and a powerful 140 BPM foundation create a journey that feels deep, unrestricted and constantly in motion.
The ocean journey
Crisp percussion and the driving bassline create a steady force that carries the listener away from the shore and into open movement.
Dreamy pads, melodic layers and sublime vocal textures introduce a deeper emotional space beneath the direct club energy.
Breakbeat tension and the complete melodic return combine in an energetic finish built for the trance floor.
The central idea
The ocean represents a place without visible walls. Its surface is always moving, its full depth can never be seen at once and every wave becomes part of something much larger.
The production follows that same idea. The rhythm supplies continuous movement, while the vocals, pads and melodies create an emotional world that expands beyond the physical energy of the track.
The collaboration
“Down To The Ocean” is officially credited to Alima X Nold. The collaboration combines an emotional vocal-trance concept with a focused peak-time arrangement designed for energetic listening and club use.
The production balances two contrasting sides: hard rhythmic pressure below and an open, dreamlike melodic atmosphere above. That contrast gives the track its distinctive sense of scale.
The visual world
The imagined environment behind the track begins at the ocean surface, where light still reflects across moving water. Beneath it lies a much darker and more expansive world.
The percussion represents the repeating motion of the tide. The bassline carries the weight of the deeper water, while the pads, melodies and vocals feel like light travelling down from above.
The breakdown
One of the defining moments of “Down To The Ocean” is its breakbeat-influenced breakdown. The regular trance pulse temporarily changes shape, creating a different kind of movement beneath the vocals and atmospheric layers.
That contrast gives the final return more impact. When the full bassline, percussion and melody reconnect, the production feels like a wave releasing all of its stored energy at once.
Two versions — one ocean journey
The compact version reaches the vocals, melodic atmosphere and energetic finish quickly while preserving the full identity of the collaboration.
The Extended Mix provides additional room for the rhythmic opening, longer transitions, atmospheric development, breakbeat breakdown and final mainfloor return.
Release footprint
The collaboration was released internationally as a two-track vocal-trance package by Alima X Nold.
“Down To The Ocean” became catalogue release RDXM262 within the Redux Magic label catalogue.
The Extended Mix later appeared on the first Redux Selection compilation of 2024 alongside further trance releases from the label family.
The Redux Magic chapter
Redux Magic presented the release through its combination of crisp percussion, a hard bassline, dreamy pads, sweet melodic elements, sublime vocals and a distinctive breakbeat breakdown.
These elements give “Down To The Ocean” a direct dancefloor identity without losing the emotional, atmospheric character at the center of the ALIMA and Nold collaboration.
