The Story Behind “Dakota” – Alima’s Upcoming Trance Release
Sometimes, the best musical moments happen by pure coincidence. That’s exactly how “Dakota (Alima Extended Remix)” came to life – a story that began on TikTok and evolved into one of the most exciting Trance releases of 2025.
How It All Started
While scrolling through my For You Page on TikTok, I stumbled upon a clip by producer Jonny Boy. In that video, he showcased his Trance edit of the legendary Stereophonics hit “Dakota” – a fresh, emotional rework that instantly caught my attention.
From the very first moment, the female vocal, the melodic synths, and the uplifting energy of his version hit me right in the heart. My immediate thought was:
“This is the best Vocal Trance song I’ve heard in decades – I need to put my own signature on this!”

Without hesitation, I opened my DAW and started working on my own interpretation. I wanted to preserve the emotional essence of Jonny Boy’s version but enhance it with my own production style, more drive on the low end, and a bigger mainfloor energy – something designed for real Trance lovers and festival stages.
Only after finishing my remix did I reach out to Jonny Boy himself, explaining the story and asking for his approval. To my delight, he gave me the green light to officially release it.
Release Details
Now, that moment is finally here:
“Dakota (Alima Extended Remix)” drops on October 17th, 2025 – available on all streaming platforms and digital stores worldwide.
This release means a lot to me – not just because of the track’s emotional impact, but also because “Dakota” has recently gone viral within the global Trance community. With Jonny Boy’s powerful new Radio Version keeping the momentum alive, the energy around this song continues to grow – and I can’t wait to share my take on it with the world.
Why This Release Matters
“Dakota” isn’t just another remix. It’s a tribute to timeless melodies, emotional storytelling, and the uniting power of Trance. For me, it captures everything I love about this genre – nostalgia, euphoria, and a connection that transcends generations of listeners.
